The stove I fitted about 20yrs ago has the usually top and back flue ducts. Anyway I had a lot of smoke coming into room and noticed bright glow on wall behind. Thought the back of the fire had burnt through!
Pulled it out and it turns out to be the fire cement that was sealing the rear flue blanking plate has crumbled away.
Can't remember if I had to cement it up or it was already done as supplied.
Seems to have a solid link at the top edge. Just can't remember. I intend to use some ss wirewool and fire cement. Think it just needs re-gunging
Perhaps someone has done one recently? Suppose I could haul it into the workshop and weld it up. (not cast iron).
