What do you want to be doing with it?

All I did was give my opinion on something. I've not posted any links to anything. I've made it quite clear that I have a close association with my local supplier but I don't see why when other people such as Jim or Matt from Lorch do it you don't have much of a problem with it. Just me.

It's not as if every post I make I'm saying "BUY THIS, BUY THAT, NO THAT'S RUBBISH AVOID THAT"

I don't want there to be any problems, its just when I see these type of posts I feel like I'm being accused of deception when I've made it known I have an association with TWS, I do some of there web design work.

I mentioned the Oxford, the same as many other people on the forum do, because they are quality machines just the same as your brand of portamig's.
I could just have easily mentioned GYS, Jasic & many other that yourself & many other suppliers sell.

Morning guys thanks for all your input have had a look around and am seriously tempted and torn now between 2 machines..... I like the look & sound of the r tech I might 180 but also love the sound of the I tech 170 mig inverter being capable of mig tig & mma. Do any of you guys have any experience of the I tech 170 that I could draw on before making a decision

IFL machines for the most part are lovely and I believe they are made in the UK, correct me if I'm wrong.
The I-tech will be a better option for you than Clarke migs.

There are a couple of reviews on here of the ifl machine, all were favourable. I've got an rtech mig/arc/tig machine and to be fair it makes a decent go of all 3 processes, in my opinion these type of multi purpose machines are ideal for the home hobby type guy who wants to dabble in a bit of all sorts

I have had a R-tech 160 dc tig for a couple of years now (still learning with it) and have been very pleased with it, yesterday I dug out the stick electrode holder that came with it and tried it for the first time. I was very happy with how it performed. It worked much better than the couple of old stick welders I have used in the past.

I've a couple of IFL machines (not MIG's though) and they do seem nice machines, and are indeed built in England. Also repaired in England, though this can be at an eye watering cost.

I suspect most inverter multi function machines aren't the cheapest to fix but after my 30 + yr old sureweld made arc it's gonna be like a rolls Royce for sure....... The fact that it's British is a bonus
Can't beat British engineering in my opinion, I've just spent a small fortune refurbing an old 1968 broomwade compressor & she runs like a dream.

Thanks for all your input guys...... Having spent a few days thinking about it and looking around I have tonight spoken to Steve at weldequip and have just placed an order for an ifl 170 & optional tig torch ...... & as an early chrimbo pressy( to myself ) added an ifl cut 40 plasma too... Gonna be foot tapping till it arrives now I'd just like to say that Steve is an extremely nice & helpfull guy TOP FELLA thanks steve

We'll my new ifl 170 and cut 40 arrived today, along with optional tig torch and a generously thrown in roll of wire and tips/torch spares package... Many thanks to Steve @weldequip for his help & generosity..... Now just need to get registered with BOC & see what deal I can get out of them, then happy days
