Hi not sure what make this vice is, could anybody tell me

does anybody know where I could by a replacement spring for the quick release

Pretty sure model F is visible below Parkinson's too.

Don't know but if its a no7 I can give you spring dims from mine.

8A. The 6" model. Spring length & diameter will be close, if not the same. Easy to work out the diameter & length from the lever & nut position, if they differ.

Jack, are all parts bar the spring still there? Or, is the spring there but snapped?

It turns out the spring isn't snapped it just doesn't hold the quick release in place. So the release lever disengages when it shouldn't and undos the vice

Easy fix then. Should fix into something near the tommy bar and wind up from memory.
Same issue with mine.

Seriously. It's a F type. That image you've posted is a F type. The J's have a dog leg shape on the rear of the housing. It's a F type.

Strip the QR mech to clean any dried grease and crud out of it, then, when reassembled, retension via the nut with the sloped faces. Three or four clicks is usually ample.

It's got model F written on it. Its a dead giveaway.

Couldn't make out a No but thought I saw a ghost of a 7. Not the case with hindsight.
