vice wanted please

any one know where i can get a cheap or free vice from. not too bothered about condition as long as it works. i have got lots of steel to swap mainly 40x 40 x 5mm box section some ally treadplate and some nice steel fence panels approx 2000 wide 1500 high with 15mm steel roundbar some solid some tube and some decrative acorns on top. these weigh approx 120kgs. i have made a few gates out of them.

Try asking on Freecycle.org - I got a fantastic leg vice from someone who'd just moved into a house and they found it in the cellar.

The internet, I put out a similar appeal last autumn on another site similar to this and ended up with the vice in this thread http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=9336 the guy even posted it to me for free.

thanks chunko. i need all the luck i can get at the minute. things arent goin well at the minute for me. had to turn some welding away the other day as i was abit under the weather. lost about 200 notes on that, which i really could have done with

I think that we might have an old vice

we had to move an old greenhouse and clear out an old shed

i think that the vice might still be in there

you can get a basic vice for £20 from MM

I got a great vice for genral use for £14 from Focus I was very pleased.

I think i have got one sorted now all being well. i have got 2 small hobby vices but you try bending 5mm plate in them or even thin sheet. i wanted to see if anybody had an old one laying about they dont use before i went out and spent 50-100 quid on one.
