Few yesrs ago, I had to drop my father off, to collect a car, after his golf buddy, rang him in a panic, from A&E, after a heart attack........
So car was outside a lady of illreputes place, he'd popped viagra (81), and hed had a heart episode, so she had rung 999.
Didnt want his wife knowing where he was.

Scam call this morning, answer machine took it. Purporting to be from "your credit card issuer" saying that a suspicious transaction of £600 in a foreign country had been attempted. "If you wish to stop this transaction, press 1"....
Aye....right, they must think our heads zip up the back, but I can see how some might panic and do just that. The 'clever' bit is, they don't say which card so if you're foolish/naive enough to connect to them, they'll wheedle all the numbers, codes etc from you under the pretense of "Security " questions
1471 revealed the call originated in either Russia or Kazakhstan and a Google of the full number showed it didn't exist - I assume they have rolling numbers, changing as fast as you can research them?![]()
i got that one last week !
it's the electricity account that everyone's interested in that gets me 2/3 calls a week about it , I signed a contract in July for 3 years but they keep phoning
Heard of a new scam locally this week. Guy had a new iphone delivered unexpectedly by courier then a short while later a guy in company uniform knocked on his door claiming to have delivered the phone by mistake. Got told to shove off then he called the cops. Turned out someone had taken out a phone contract in his name and address and waited outside for the delivery in an effort to scam a new £1100 phone.
