VFD guidance please for car lift

ok, ive never had anything to do with VFDs have a rotary phase convertor my self.

My son in law has bought a 3 phase car lift, and wants to run it from single phase. Pictures of the motor and a suggested vfd opinions or better suggestions please

I'd have a look at which ones are available at 3 kw - most (not all though) only go up to 2.2 kw single phase.

I'd recommend Schneider but I don't think they do single phase ones that size.

Even the generic Chinese ones should work though, few people on here have used them no probs, other than the poor instructions.

Is there any fancy control to be done, ie does it need to energise a brake or anything?

Here are a couple from eBay. The first is rated at the motor rating. I have had problems with a vfd that was rated the same as the motor. It's better to have a slightly over-rated one. The only other that I can find is a 5.5kW one, but that won't matter in use. There's not a huge difference in price either.

Can't help with inverter choice but you need to move the two link plates between the three right hand side terminals so they go straight across from left to right each terminal (So there's three of them parallel with one another). This'll let you run it on the 240v output from most inverters.

Id go with a slightly larger vfd and you need to rewire the motor to delta. Also the switch gear that is currently in use to supply the motor will need changing. A switch supply to the vfd and then control the motor via the vfd ( low voltage switches)
Also there is usually a need to adjust some of the settings on the vfd to match the motor.
