If I had to choose between high speed or low speed, I would always go for the lower speed. You are not, we assume, doing production work where cubic inches per minute of metal removed matter.
The only benefit of a really high speed is for tiny (sub 3mm cutters) and these can still be used with care and greatly reducing the feed.
We are now 20 posts into the thread and you have not mentioned which machine it is. Have you searched the internet to see what other people have done? You are surely not the only person in the world to have faced this challenge.
