Sounds more like you knew the weight but was in denial and it'll do it modeFor a bit more excitement, stick the pallet truck containing the mill on the tail lift of a luton van to find it's over the weight limit and you need to take it off again and strip it down![]()
We knew it would be "about" half a ton, it was an awful lot easier to remove the cabinet and coolant equipment from the mill than the lathe that followed which was significantly heavier! Never have three people stripping down machines when only 1 of them is going to be putting it back together at the other end and the other 2 just want it gone from their premisesSounds more like you knew the weight but was in denial and it'll do it mode![]()

If it has a nice flat base you could use rollers. Surprising how easy you cam turn things by whacking the ends of the rollers with a sledge hammer.Guys, I know this is an old post but I think I need a set of these skates to move a flat rack container base with a machine mounted on it. Size 2.4m x 6.0m total weight 5T and a lot of the weight at 1 end or the container base.
Would 8T vevor skate do the trick? Also given the weight I assume using the skate with handle I wont be able to turn the container base so am I better using 4No. 8T skates and a toe jack to adjust the direstion before pushing with a small forklift or similar? or will the handle skate work at 5T load?
Thanks for any help.
