I did one for a friend's neighbour a few years ago, a 1962 125 Vespa same colour blue as that, same colour rust as well come to think of it.
I think it was going to be repainted in lime green and reassembled with a 4 speed gearbox instead of the original 3 speed.

They all seem to be the same blue that rots , i have seen 4 now in quite a bad away
A bit more done
Nearside lower apron was really pinholed , so cut it all out and pieced in . Could not replicate the original lip , so i made it the same as the other side. Looks ok i think

The bead down the rear was just rolled into a flat plate with one of these.

It is not as per original seam , as the original is where both sides are spot weld together. This is a massive water / dirt trap , this is why it has rotted out here. Thought it would be a better idea to make a "fake" looking seam , but it now is not water trap LOL

Ask not what colour my vespa is, but what size brush it was painted with!
Monocoque
Out of curiosity, how thick is the orginal sheet metal used for the Vespa frames or monocoque? I've got a smallframe I need to get welded up, and need to buy some donor sheet metal. 1mm enough or too thick? Will be welding with a Clarke 90EN on gas.

More holes than our missus's fishnets LOL . Someone had brazed some patches over the old rot

Why cut the rot out when you can just braze an old door skin over it

Tacked in place to get some strength back into upper frame , before rest of rotten mudguard comes out
