After reading "pedrobedro,s" thread on his project lambretta, i typed in lambretta club scotland, they have a link which could effect many guys on this and other forums. Its a government e petition called
AMENDMENT TO THE EC ROAD WORTHINESS PACKAGE FOR HISTORIC VEHICLES, get on it now read it, sign it and let the other members on this site know about it.

perhaps MALCOLM would post this thread on each and every title and subject for us, so every one is aware.

I'll admit to only only scanning through the link but it looks like that's based on the origionally 'daily wail' scarremongering that was doing the rounds back in August. Finding something on the topic that isn't daily wail like ain't easy but there was a huuuuuge thread on pistonheads that had a few sensible takes (from people that had carefully read the actual proposed legisation) scattered amongst the 'end is nighers'

The Ace.org was maybe responsible for many of the initial forum rants after their 'armageddon' story (maybe a bit harsh on my part as someone needs to keep an eye on the inbred stuffed suits and at least they got everyones attention). There seems to be some substance to it then, i dont think it,s all hot air,
nothing surprises me any more with the bunch of cheating, llying, spineless morons that run this country, ALLEGEDLY !

No, it's not all hot air in that the goal posts are gonna keep moving and it's gonna continue to get harder BUT from the way some people are talking you'd think they'd actually pass legislation that'd effectively put hundreds of thousands (the entire European aftermarket parts supply chain) out of work

The motorbike world went through this last year with their 'anti tampering legislation' which is still ongoing. Again this was giving people that had read headlines based on a poor reading/understanding of the proposed legislation high blood pressure which is both good and bad... good that at least it everyone got motivated and did something, bad in that people were getting angry about daily wail reporting

Being a cynical pill addict i'm waiting for the 'sting' to follow the pre '60 MOT exemption... usage restrictions etc [/daily wail]

Hum.. some of you guys need to get the regs changed in the UK/EU. Instead of legging it to the US of A. I could live there, as Mrs. KF is a US cit. But there is a lot that stops me.... Frequent visits only re-enforce the feeling.

If you are into red-neck style stuff OK, but beware...

Best result is to get out of the EU, and make your own rules..

Just for the record, I'm expressing an opinion not ranting. And it does say the brew room is for sensible discussion of stuff not covered elsewhere. This type of stuff would be discussed in a real brew room after all.
Anyway, if thats the way it has to be I'll refrain from such discussion in future.
