Hello everyone,
I've been back at school and I feel I have sett- that's rubbish I dislike the sixth form and I want my car more than ever.
So! For those of you who don't know, my XJS can be seen on this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSHxJcDfouet5xXvaGEdLfQ/videos
So since I last spoke I have discovered some new grimy grot. Every task I do I always feel more confident. And hopefully, touching lots of wood, I will get a garage space. At that point I will just spurge on a Welder angle grinder etc etc. and get this project on a proper Go!
Rust issues that I am aware of:
Subframe is shot - can't be welded
Nearside front sill and jacking point is dodgy.
My scuttle is very much dead
And of course I worry about the bulkhead that has had water seeping down it
And as a result, I reckon, my floorpans have really rusted out. Yeah, that'll need doing.
I don't have a picture but I'm 90% sure that where the floorpan meets the inner sill (and not the other way around) there is a hole.
Rear lower quarters but not essential for now. Might be a good place to learn more complex welding.
I still love my car and I "blame" you guys for motivating me to keep it Thanks everyone for reading. So if you guys could give some tips, advice and the like, as well as telling me what I'm up against, it is all very reassuring as opposed to right now where I know nothing and I am a bit anxious about it.
