Hi, a bit of an odd question here...
I'm looking to buy a camper van before next "summer" on a pretty low budget, and want to avoid "modern" features like ECUs, clever electronics etc. that go wrong and cost a fortune, I'm probably looking at something based on a van from the 80s / 90s and ideally not too rotten, any suggestions of vans to avoid, vans to look for?
When the kids were little I had a Bedford CF with the 2.3 petrol engine, which was nice and simple (although the gearbox was a regular hassle), they seem pretty thin on the ground now
VWs are a bit too small and I've seen a lot of the air-cooled type 2s sat at the side of the road with oil smoke drifting, so I'll probably avoid those!
Cheers all,
Dave H. (the other one)
