I cant do it any helpful tips that I can use while I practice ?
about 3mm steel, using a 1/8th but also got some 3/32nd rods too
On AC, old pickhill bantam style oil filled welder and I think I was running 100A, the welds were just pooling and dripping down or blowing holes
7018s/7016s are difficult to use with ac and definitely need around 80 - 90 OCVs, you need to use the high voltage range on a buzz box if it has it. Any reason why your using higher tensile rods? 6013s are far easier to use on buzz boxes for all positional welds.

I don't think a Pickhill Bantam Oil Cooled could be classed as a "Buzz Box" by any stretch of the imagination. The only problem may well be a lack of fine amperage control possibly.
practice with some 6013 first, get your eye in with those and then try the 7018, although as said above 7018 is high tensile and the weld you describe is better for mig
6013s can be used in any position. That's one of the attractions of them - nice cheap all-purpose rod. But yes, 3.2mm isn't going to be any use in this situation. Vertical on 3mm as others have said isn't easy though with MMA, no matter what rods you use.
