I refurbished it myself. It needed some new knobs spun on the lathe, some bolts straightened, and a new table made for the vertical position. This unit was made for sanding wood. It has a small turbine that sucks the dust from the belt/table and blows it into a bag on the backside of the machine. I put a cloth bag on it, but, when grinding steel, the steel sparks were still hot when they made it to the bag and the bag burned. So- I had my wife sew up a bag made of fibreglass cloth. Works like a charm!Lovely piece of kit, as said above ^^^^^ Did you carry out the refurbishment, or a previous owner/dealer?
I find my linisher restrictive when upright because the back plate is wider, I usually just find another way of doing the job and intend to get another machine with a thinner belt like this......
I have a 50cm disc sander that I use when I need to grind against an edge, but would like to have that same option on the belt sander. I'll keep fiddling with.
