vee belt pulley sizing ...

ok so someone must know a calculation for this :

ok so motor speed 1440 RPM ,Pulley size 95 mm (95 SPA)
motor drives a pump via vee belts

pump pulley size :150 mm (150 SPA)

What speed is the pump pulley going ?? YEA i know the easy is a tachometer on the shaft , not got one tho

Could be.... pulley ratio =150/95 =1.8

motor rpm = 1440/ 1.8 = 800 rpm at pump

912 RPM, i think, assuming you want shaft rpm?


95/150=0.63r

1440x0.63r=912rpm

Yeah 912 doing it Wyn's way, he got the arithmetic wrong and the alegebra right.

I used to work it out using the circumfrence of each pulley, but not much point is there, thats just adding 2 extra calculations that are completley unnecessary
