I am running BOC 6013 rods on my Thermal Arc 175 SE machine that's about 2-3 years old now.
Is it common that some rods burn much hotter than others? I couldn't put an accurate figure on it but this is happening approx 1 in 20 rods.
This situation is sometimes I burn up a rod just fine, grab a new one, move to a new area of the project to work, strike up and it feels like the unit hard been turned up 15 amps when my back was turned.
I'm hoping that this is something to do with the rods rather than the machine.
Cheers fof any pointers.
