Not to go on a van but the front axle of a steam engine

Anyone think of anything recentish with springs that could be modded to sonewhere near the pictures below

I haven't used them myself (had mine made at Brost in Londinium - now gone) but these guys have a pretty good reputation within the vintage car world.

the front end its a bit of a bitsa, it was a road roller till the 80's now got normal steam engine wheels..
the state of the roads dont help, bouncing 8 tons into potholes is never gonna be gentle

Was at a steam rally last weekend, saw one engine which had the outer carcass, basically just the tread, of large tractor tyres fitted around its steel wheels. Made it considerably quieter on gravel / concrete than other engines.

Was at a steam rally last weekend, saw one engine which had the outer carcass, basically just the tread, of large tractor tyres fitted around its steel wheels.

This one's on rubber as well

I have had good service from both.
You will need to contact them with the details of your broken spring.
Owen's do repairs, I think Sandersons are mostly just new springs these days.

You could try SBS lorry breakers for springs that size, they are in near Ipswich
Would think something out of a Bedford TK or MK might work or even a J type.
Lot of the modern 3-7t stuff is on single leaf now,

I might have something like that. I did take one set apart to make a Burke bar and iirc it had about 13mm thick leaf springs. Will have a look tomorrow.

I got these before they changed the law on massive knives and swords - Ninja swords specifically (whatever tf they are supposed to be...)

old 8 wheeler back axle bogie springs would look about right ,,, well , pick the leafs you want , if you dont mind messing about a bit.

If you do try SBS just ask for John or Jamie, they are the bothers that own it and go to steam rallies, so if you explain what is for they may be more helpful, but expect to be on the phone for a while. lovely people, but John does like a natter.
If you go there, set aside at least an hour of talking time
