I have a simple way of looking at such things, if it doesn't 'look' right it probably isn't.

In my opinion that will always attract attention when in use and that's hassle that I can do without.

Yep the same reason i cut the back off a Ford Transit to make a pick-up in the 80,s...used to get pulled by the cops every other day so i had to scrap it

Had a similar problem with an aircraft trailer, wagged the wotsits behind a Jeep Cherokee. Owner asked me to help. I just cut off the front and switched ends. Put the wheels much further back and made it a decent tow. Did the whole thing in around three hours after normal hours (and got it in the neck from her at home...
