Vaillant boiler advanced settings

Hey hey

I've had to change the timer on my Vaillant EcoTec as the old one had failed.

The new timer is same but the ADVANCED SETTINGS are not appearing in the menu of the new timer. If I recall correctly that item is hidden because Vaillant think we're too stupid to use it, and there's some button combo need to unhide it.

Google isn't helping me. Does anyone know how to get to advanced settings?

Try pushing the "i" and "+" buttons simultaneously (presumably that's both the left and right "i" buttons, or it might just be one of them).

That gets me into Installer Settings, Fault Codes etc on the left panel. But there's also a hidden ADVANCED SETTINGS item in the Right timer panel.

Not sure if this helps, but the version of the Operating Instructions for the VTS 160 timeswitch, linked below, runs to 44 pages, and mentions different menu levels:
