that's not a lot really, how much did you pay? Sounds like your getting ripped off.
its probably safe at that pressure but there should be a lot more in a proper bottle, unless in missing something. Most argoshield bottles are 200 bar?, your 1000 psi is only 70 bar, give or take.
i would ring boc up and join the volkzone deal, will work out cheaper in the long run and the gas will last a lot longer
I'm not using a guage at all, just the regulator that came with the welder. When I spoke to the supplier, he said not to worry to much about a guage and to just turn the knob a couple of turns and listen for when it's running out.
did he try selling you a long weight as well? You need to get well away from that bottle, and that supplier, he is taking you for a ride.
you need to get a proper bottle of gas, with a proper regulator. Either a twin gauge that shows output in lpm or a single gauge and add a flow meter. This will improve things no end. At the moment you have no idea how much gas is in the bottle and no idea how much is coming out of the torch. Personally i use a twin gauge with a flow meter because its just better, more accurate and easier to get things right.
Yeah, I think I've figured that out now >:/ If anyone knows of any good welding suppliers in Birmingham UK let me know.
Do you have any recomendations on which ones to buy? There is some stuff on Ebay but I don't want to end up buying cheap rubbish that doesn't do the job properly, or won't last 5 minutes.
Ive started using neon auto in sutton coldfied, distributor for national chain adams gas. Bottles are on a rent free basis, pay your deposit and then just pay for your refils as and when needed (£36 for a 9 litre bottle around 140bar). Freindly guys
