Since getting rid of the van and now having car and Land Rover - I felt I needed more space as was getting fed up of having all manor of crap shoved in the car.

So I set to work.....

Not bad for a days work

Need to cobble something together for the hitch then finish rear tailgate off which will drop down to a ramp.

Then the axle needs bolting on lastly and then it can be boarded out.

Looking Good:

I used to use some 5mm plate for the hitch base when I was making them and a spare wheel carrier on the front with the wheel dropping into the V a bit.

My other trick after painting but before boarding out was to cover the top surfaces of the box section with thick grease, it's an area that tends to stay damp and can't be maintained easily, although if I was making one now I would probably think galvo was worth investing in.

Only going to be 750kg unbraked units. Literally for shifting branches and the odd bit of scrap metal. 500kg payload is fine for me

And on the subject of the Landy... It is just a normal Disco with it's bumper removed. Will eventually get a new one but time and money at the moment dictates otherwise.

Just needs boarding out, lights fitted tailgate slid on and hitch attached with jockey wheel.
