Here's how I kept the cutouts and NVR Contactor when fitting a VFD to my Boxford 280
Front Panel from Left to Right:
Isolator, suds pump is now Jog Forward / Reverse;Forward / off/ Reverse; Start; Stop (latching).
I'm using the gearbox and not a pot for the VFD for speed alterations.
Inside the panel - specially colour coded in red

You need to check the coil voltage for the contactors, I'm using the original contactor and 110v control circuit from the transformer to incorporate the safety cutouts and start stop function of the original panel.
My common from the VFD is probably the same as your +24v and seems to be the one that needs to be broken to stop the motor.
With this set-up the cut-outs will stop the motor in forward and reverse when activated and the start button will need to be pressed to re-start the machine.
With the feed for the jog function coming from #4 of the contactor it will work with the cutouts activated (chuck guard up). I have it like this so I can reverse it out for tapping. The jog switch is return to centre so will go back to off.
