using disposables

Quick question someone on this thread might be able to answer! I'v just bought a disposable gas bottle, regulator and abit of the small gas hose that fits into it, all ready for when I get my new TIG inverter next week, but my question is will the tube just fit straight onto the welder or will I need to adapt it somehow? Coz it looks pretty dam small tube! any advice would be great. Thanks.

I'm not sure you can use disposable bottles with TIG welders.

i have to change the gas on TIG's in work quite often, and depending on the supplier, we usually have to put our own pipes and fittings on the bottles to get them to fit the welder

I'm pretty sure that its a pure argon bottle, I'm guna get a big bottle in a few weeks anyway, I only got the disposable to try out my welder & the reg was only £5 so though it was worth is as if I have a small job somewhere it saves me carting a big bottle about! I'm sure I'll be able to adapt it somehow!

with disp. bottles on a mig they run out in no time atall and with a tig with pre/post flow of between 3-8 seconds and a gas flow of 8lpm minimum that will be empty quickly!!

you usually only get 10 mins solid welding time from those disposibles
