At 50° C the amount drops to 440cc
The amount that 100 parts of water dissolves according to temperature.
T Ammonium alum Potassium alum
0 °C 2.62 3.90
10 °C 4.50 9.52
50 °C 15.9 44.11
80 °C 35.20 134.47
100 °C 70.83 357.48
OK, many thanks for that. The change in 'absorbability' is pretty much logarithmic, according to that table. As I'll be mixing at around 70-80 deg C I'll probably use the whole 500g sachet in 1 litre of water. If the temperature drops below saturation point, does the alum drop out of suspension or does the solution become super-saturated?
