using a wall socket adapter for welding

I have been thinking of buying a welder and uk prices seem to be a lot nicer compared to local prices here.
But the welders bought from UK have a different wall socket.
The adapters are easily found, but i'm a bit worried it might create some problems. Does it?
thinking of using something like this.

Take the UK plug off and put the correct one on, not a problem then.

Many welders in the UK are not supplied with plugs. Better to wire your own on as pedro says. A good quality adapter would probably be OK (I've used them on European welders), but it adds connections that might get dirty or make poor contact.
