Which one did you get?
What software do you use for direct to digital?I'm not sure what a kids tablet is but I have a grown up graphics tablet, it fits nicely into a zip-loc bag which protects it pretty well and the pen works fine through the bag.
There are a few programs I use on the laptop regularly and as they are designed for a touch screen tablet they work well using the tablet as a remote for the screen. You can also make handwritten notes in the paint booth and they will save to the laptop safe outside.
Handy when starting up a new project with a few of you and making notes/parts lists at the same time as one guy is on the welder and one on the grinder as then everybody gets a copy at the same time.
For the day job it's pretty common for me to have to make notes and copy several people in so direct to digital works well. If I'm in the workshop on my own project by myself I prefer a bit of paper and a pen. A4 note book toughened up for the workshop by covering it in duct tape.
Anything that goes well and I copy the notes/details onto the pc when I get home.
Anything that goes badly and I just rip the page out.
