Used Fronius, Kemppi prices in UK

Hi to everybody!
Lately i have been looking for TIG welders on ebay and i did find some good offers. Are they real offers or scams?

One guy was asking 1400 for Kemppi mastertig 3000 with foot pedal, gas regulator,trolley. Was in mint condition on pictures.

Brad new magic wave went for 1750 pounds.

Could somebody give some examples of used kemppi/fronius prices in UK.
Interested in mastertig and magic waves water cooled.

£1750 is not cheap for that magicwave.
That is an old machine.
It might look clean but it's still very old.
It's also 3ph. These don't get the attention a single phase one would as they cannot be powered up by a lot of folk and the people that can power them usually have businesses that would prefer to buy new for warranty etc.
'3ph tig sets don't pick up the big money really compared to the single phase Ones. Good news if you have 3 phase.

I do have 3ph Yes the magic wave is old but what is the diffrence between the old and the new magic wave? There cant be much except the newer has no knobs. Also TIG technology hasnt changed much in last decade or is it?

The first magicwave you posted was a scam,but around £2000 for one is a good deal.
they will always be worth that in working condition,any 3000 model

The problem with older machines is breakdowns and spares availability, then the cost of the spares, then you get one problem turning into many problems usually.

The old 3000's were great units but quite limited on settings. I had a 2200 job model which is a far more sophisticated. The older Fronius's had separate remotes to enable the extra settings like pulse welding.
On auction they are only worth what people are prepared to pay.
Those old magicwaves are also out of the range and unsupported for spares. The remotes, pedal and cables are obsolete now so unless you find one that is complete you could be looking on eBay for a good while for the extras you need. Based on this £2k is not what I'd be prepared to pay.
I'd pay that for a current one mind because they are stunning machines on ac. I've had 3 magicwaves and they are special machines but you need to research what your buying as it can cost a fair bit more after you've bought it. Only fronius torches fit fronius machines without the very rare and very expensive adapters and only fronius torch consumables fit fronius torches again very expensive.

Fronius breakdowns are pretty rare.thats partly why they cost so much
It takes about 1-2 hours and 30 quid to convert a fronius tig to dinse

Break downs are rare.
But they do happen. None of them last forever. I've had enough fronius tigs to know they are good but if it's unsupported and extras are obsolete then it reflects the unit value a lot.
£2k is a tad rich for an obsolete machine (as good as they are) in my opinion. But like I said it's only worth what people are willing to spend.

If it come with a pedal I guess it would be complete enough to fetch decent brass.
Quite difficult to find separate nowadays though.

That´s a great machine indeed.
I like the interface (much more like the Kemppi ones) and arc characteristic is great too.

A friend send just send me some pics of his 200A version.

Might be the same problem with spare parts like with the old Fronius units.
But if you use these things not all day long and in a friendly environment they should last for decades.
