Differences:
1/ 50Hz transformer will be slightly bigger than 60Hz transformer for the same power rating. Not the case for inverter-based machines as the power transformer runs at a much higher frequency independent of the supply frequency.
2/ Things (welding equipment, for example) are cheaper in the US than compared to Europe.
