I hope there is someone logged onto this forum who can answer my question before I purchase a second hand Lincoln.
The mig is a Lincoln compact 250 which I will be using mainly for car repairs.
According to information I have found on various websites it is suitable for welding thin steel but I also note the output range is is 45 to 245 amps which I have always assumed is too high for car work, especially for a novice like me.
The welder I used to use had a starting ampage of 30 and was great and I used to have the power level set to 3 (out of 6) so I assume I was running it around 50a anyway.
I dont want to make a mistake with the purchase so I am hoping that someone on the forum has the same welder or similar welder and can tell me if it is fine for car work.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
