Upvc door adjustment

I have tennants in my old house , The letting agent did an inspection the other day .I had upvc French doors fitted about 5 years ago . The door that is opened the most has dropped slightly . How are these adjusted does anyone know ? The doors are kommerling if that makes a difference?

if you mean dropped it mostly is at the farthest opening edge door handle side which they do

its a window out lift hinge side and repack the window from bottom right ( hinge ) to top left as well as squaring the window with other packers between left and right points

it stops the handle side from dropping

Some hinges have an eccentric adjustment built into them. Usually prise a plastic cap from the top and then adjust with an Allen key.

I had to do this with our front door. It's been on about 12 years and was getting awkward to close with something catching. I took the little cap out of the end of the hinge and a 5mm Allen key ball end slots in nicely. It only took about a half turn to take up the play and the turn was anti clockwise opposite to what I expected.

Google will probably answer how to adjust your hinges - found answers for my mum's doors, and my own house front and back doors, as well as the porch doors - all different makes and slightly different ideas.

Has it dropped or has the closing edge sagged? The infill panels are supposed to be wedged in a specific way to prevent sagging. I didn't know this when I fitted mine and found out later when the door went all trapezoid on me.

Mine also has hinges that adjust in several directions.

Not sure where I bought my porch doors from knew that. Panels looked like they been hacked out by a short sighted, one armed, saw holder who had yet to be introduced to the concept of a right angle!

Do a search for "UPVC door heel and toe". It will tell you how to adjust the door square and where to apply packers.

@Pete. I haven't been to have a look yet , I've got to phone the letting agent tomorrow ,so I'll ask him ..
I did have an issue a couple of years back , with the lock mechanism and had the company out who fitted it I think they adjusted the hinge then.as well as lubricating the gears. If i recall correctly the handle side of the door had dropped and was dragging on the cill. I suspect the same this time ? Being Frenchdoorsh ere's no infil panels just one glass panel per door .

The glass panel is the infill panel in this respect, and the extra weight makes it all the more important to get the heel-toe wedges correct.

As above the infill panel / glass is packed from the bottom corner on the hinge side to the top corner on the closing side , make sure there are packers down the verticals to stop the glass / panel moving in the door * make sure the door is closed and locked before packing this helps keep the door in the correct alignment with all the keeps in the slave door or frame .

Quick update guys ,I went to have a look yesterday and the actual problem.is it won't lock with the key ,
You can lift the handle and kurn the key when the door is open ie the lock bolt slides across .
But when the door is shut the lock bolt won't engage and you can't turn the key fully .....
It may well of dropped but it's a bit beyond my capabilities , so I've got a window/door company coming out next week ..
The company who fitted it went bust a few months back apparently !
I seem to remember the guy who fitted it had trouble getting it to fit correctly and for some reason had to pack it underneath with 3x2 timber .oh and it did play up during extremes of temperature! with the expansion presumably .

I fettled a friends UPVC front door a couple of days ago.
Most I've done in the past have an eccentric adjuster pin as part of the hinge, the problem this time was the hinge had worked loose slightly from the door allowing the door to sag - nip up the fixings holding the hinge onto the door and it's sorted - no need to adjust anything.
Nice when the fix is something simple

I had to Google the answer when my sisters UPVC door needed adjusting, there are clip on covers over each hinge that I could not work out simply by looking at it. Once removed, in a secret way several, screws are exposed, that made adjustment simple enough. Up/down, in/out, hither/yon.
