Hi guys! After becoming bored with the MIG welder, I've fired up the buzzbox and decided to see just how my 5 or 6 weeks away from it have affected my method.. not much i'm glad to say! Managed to tee fillet some 3mm steel together using 2.0mm elga 6013's at 45-50 amps without burn through!
I have a question now, what is the technique for overhead welding? Can it be done using 6013's? Can't imagine the slag will get in the way too much, as naturally gravity will take care of that won't it?
I'm talking electrode angles, weave or drag? etc. When i've attempted in the past, i've got skinny looking welds that were rather straight and I ran the electrode 90 degrees to the work piece.
