Ok bare with me on this ...I have a UPS that has sat in the workshop 'cos it slowly lost power and would only work for a few mins .. so I bought a new one ..I had assumed that it was a case of the batteries had just worn out , so today I took it to bitts thinking that I might price up a pair of batteries and bingo it's up and running ...so I took a screwdriver to it ...It has two 12 volt sealed batteries ..what puzzles me is if I disconnect them and connect a meter across the connections and switch it on nothing happens , no lights , no power ,? Surely it's just a battery charger ,and an inverter combined what can go wrong? ..or am I missing something...seems a shame to bin it if it just needs new cheap Chinese batteries ...
