I've got a SIP Autoplus 130 and it needs a bit of love to get it feeding wire well again. Currently it has the normal 0.8Kg spool holder but I'm considering putting a larger one on and I wonder if anyone who's done the same would care to comment on whether it made a difference or not?
The feed roller is well worn and so I'll definitely need a new one. However I'm not sure whether to update the spool to this one: www.weldequip.com/spool-holder.htm
I calculate a lot more pressure from a 5Kg spool on its roller compared to a 0.8Kg but price per kilo is much better for a 5Kg spool. The spool holder I have now isn't complete so should I just upgrade it anyway?
Just don't know which way to proceed and would appreciate advice from someone who's done it or seen it done.
Cheers
Mods: I posted in this forum rather than the SIP specific one as I thought this modification may have been done on other brands by people. Feel free to shift it if you feel it's not in the correct place.
