Hello,
I've got one of these Ebay special, obviously far eastern origin, plasma cutters. Its a Berlan 40.
Now, I know I aint gonna be cutting up old supertankers with it in a hurry, but I got to be honest its doing a good job on the light guage stuff I'm using on my Mini resto project
My only gripe is the torch. Its a really pants design and lets the set down somewhat. It just looks & feels like some ten bob lash-up (cos thats what is cost to make probably)
So has anyone upgarded one of these torches to something more userfriendly/substantial ? It can't be that difficult. Its got a standard looking thread where it fixes to the set (looks like 1/4or3/8 ish, I have'nt measured it yet), and a 2-pin plug/socket.
Apart from that as I said its doing what I'm asking of it, and would reccommend anyone thinking of dipping thier toe into plasma, to give it ago
Here's the puppy
Cheers
