I currently have 2 welders, hobby level machines
Got Clarke 151EN MIG and. SIP T1400 arc which is able to do scratch TIG, never tried that tho
Really like both and weld as often as i can, but must use arc about 3 times more cos of weather. Currently trying to sort garage out so i can use MIG, possibly TIG too, indoors.
Looks like my brother gaining interest in welding and as he's just retired will have plenty of time for new hobby if he likes it. Reckon he'll take to it too as handy type of bloke. (Incase he ever reads this he's shorter, heavier and uglier too)
He lives over 300 miles away so simply lending him stuff not really feasible. So I'm thinking of just letting him have my gear and buying higher spec stuff for myself. Which leads to the question, single machine replacement or two?
I love the idea of multi process machines, but bit suspect of faults occuring. If my MIG breaks now i still got an ARC/TIG machine available. If a multi process gives up i lose the lot.
Has anyone got opinions on multi process machines, good or bad.
If all good recommendations more than welcome please.
