Unusual interests & hobbies-I’ll go first.

I collect musical instruments. Just today I picked up a peavey rockmaster guitar from the recycling shop for £10. It needs new knobs and only has four strings, but I will restring it, find new knobs and get it all working. Then I'll bang out a few tunes so I'm happy with it then it will sit in a corner driving swmbo mad along with all the others. I also can't resist old brass and copper kettles, which might come in useful. Unfortunately they never do!

ive been collecting second hand quality british made 3 inch bolster floorboard chissels from carboot sales . most ive paid is 2 quid and have 10 up to now i use em all at work and rotate them round 2 at any one time

I got into buying stillson wrenches from car boot sales so I can turn then into dragon sculptures. Best I've got is a record 36" for 3 quid. Can't bring myself to wreck it into an art thing

I used to build my own 'bikes'.

My favourite.
the Poison Dwarf, named after my exboss and just like her.
Ugly, nasty and vicious. A killer, rideable up to about 10mph then it would try and kill people.
This was once described as a scab of weld on wheels.

The Ratweiler.
This was swapped for an air rifle, the rifle owner was told (by his dad) he was getting a mountain bike with front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes.
Well he was sort of.

Luckily I got bored with this, now I throw myself off cliffs hanging off a pillow case.

Nice bike, but I like your shed better, planning to build something like that next year against my barn. Slowly accumulating construction materials. Haven't found a cheap/free source of ship lap yet

i have 7 guitars but seem to collect pa gear, (live sound) have 3 pair of subs single 15s dual 15s and dual 18s 3 pair of tops all in all about 20000 watts of amplifiers plus load of other stuff i just seem to keep adding to it but the garage seems to be getting smaller

Why?
Well had to get a train up to london last week and stareing out the window i noticed a few in the middle of fields(no paths tracks roads to these things) etc,thought to myself i wonder where and why thats there,so am so interested to find maps of these little concrete huts and try and visit them,not to find anything but just to see what ever they saw from them.
Sad i know,lol,bloody interesting though

Not sad at all, quite interesting in fact I'd say, but then I'm am in the MVT (Military Vehicle Trust) and drive around in a WWII Willys jeep when the weather is nice, so I might be a bit biased

My brother was a train spotter and used to drag me with him occasionally when my parents wanted rid of the kids for a bit . I can remember being chased out of old oak common and plymouth laira sheds amongst other places due to his need to get brush 4 namers and the old westerns and warships before they were scrapped. I managed to escape, he carried on and made a successful business out of model trains and now lives next to the north York moors steam rail line.

When his train spotting club used to organise away days, if they were going though Chesterfield evidently the station master was a bit like Blakey off of "on the buses", a little Hitler, so they made sure they flushed all the train bogs at the station and watch his response.

Amateur Dramatics is mine, been active since 1988 (first show was Gilbert And Sullivan's Ruddigore) and am currently in rehearsal for The Addams Family musical where I will be playing Lurch (bit of an obvious choice for me, seeing as I'm 6ft 5in tall with horror-film mush ). I still enjoy it though I don't have the compulsion to be on stage that I once had, it's a fun hobby over all and is responsible for myself and Mrs Browser meeting for the first time

SOmeone further up this thread mentioned the R.O.C. (Royal Observer Corps), there are a lot of old R.O.C. posts scattered around the country, many of which are listed on www.28dayslater.co.uk or Subterranea Britannica. Kinda interesting for me as I was on an R.O.C. post crew from 1987 until said organisation was stood down in '95.

Well 2 little slices of ocean. Small tank upstairs and display tank in lounge. It is great but is a bit of a roller coaster. When you get it right it's fantastic but quite small things can cause problems. Like I have had some problems with certain types of coral recently and it has been a bit of a mission to get to the bottom of it. At this point it certainly looks like a deficiency in Potassium.

Yeah many have been there. Been doing it for 8 years now. I must be a sucker for punishment.
