no warning whatever and my laptop decided to fail to start. I tried the automatic repair which failed. I used the media creation tool to repair and that failed. Tried to rewrite the mbr and got "Access denied" at /fixboot.
Followed the instructions to create a missing EFI partition but that told me I didn't have a GPT disc.
Volume list shows the main partition as RAW so that must be where the sectors are corrupt.
Any way that I might be able to rescue the drive before backing it up? There are a few old programs on there which can't be replaced.
