That’s a valid point. The winch owes me the sum total of about 30 quid so I’m trying not to spend too much on it!Car steering joints won't be rated for very high rpm. The max rated torque of a UJ will be with the joint straight, the max torque will reduce as the angle increases.
Hadn’t thought about thoseIf you can keep the angle of the shafts as low as possible that will help your cause.
Might be worth taking a look at 4wd farm quad driveshafts and joints. They would be around the 20mm mark and should take a fair bit of stick.
25-30mm on most quads.Hadn’t thought about those
So don't misalign itto allow some angular misalignment
I would have suggested your local agricultural shop too. They will have all sorts of stocks of uj's used for PTO's etc.Agricultural engineers uses all types, sizes and ratings.
Pto's tend to run on 2 or 3 lobed tubes that slide into one another, with 6 or 21? Splined shafts on the tractor and machine end.I would have suggested your local agricultural shop too. They will have all sorts of stocks of uj's used for PTO's etc.
Power rating?
