I know you can buy the gun and cans of the stuff to spray it on, but Ive got a paint can of it and was wondering If i thinned it down enough would I be able to spray it on with a normal spray gun?
Just to add, I think ive meesed up a bit here, when ive finished welding underneath the car ive only applied underseal straight onto it, should I have primed the bare metal with something else first?
it will spray with a large set up spray gun if thinned down , goes on pretty much smooth , its how we used to do the 80s fords that had grey stonechip around the bottom half
id use a shutz gun for the orig effect under a car
i would go one further and say as well as prime the bare metal its far better to apply some topcoat aswell as primer is porous, so should any water get to the primer it will start to rust in time
Some petrol or thinners could help, just soak a rag and wipe over, You should get most of it dissolved this way, then use a wire brush or scraper for the subborn pieces.
The petrol or thinners should evaporate quite quickly but remember to get the area completely dry before doing any hot work either with a welder or grinder, and be sure to wear gloves and a mask for the fumes.
****IMPORTANT**** Get rid of any rags etc when you've finished and ideally outside as you don't want a fire hazard
Yer i know because ive already done the same to get the old stuff off but thought there might be a quickey way with the new coat, Hopefully I didnt put it on to thick so shouldnt be too diffacult. (Famouse last words)
