Spiral points are excellent, they also are quite good at self centring which makes them nice to use even as hand taps.
As said I find the YG Prime ones from Cutwel to be excellent, they are powdered metal and last well for me.
That seems expensive but may just be the way with UNC/UNF, it is all metric I buy and usually they are about £10-£15 or so and when on special half that.Had a look at the powder metal YG-1 taps. Bit sharp to build a set from. £20-40 a tap. Maybe I’ll see if they have any offers on shortly.
