I am reluctant to debate a man of your experience, but I thought 'ultrasonic' means the Hz is too high to hear with the human ear? I do not think that applies to an intimate massager, but I will ask
It is the vibration you need, Higher the HZ the quicker it gets through the dirt.
In some industries, they used to tune the frequency to the material to speed up the process.
The only reason I say about the sander and the "toy" is I saw the sander being used in Kenya in a garage rebuilding Land Rovers for the Game parks, the toy was seen in Hong Kong.
I have only needed to use a sander.

A hoohah rattler won't do it, ultrasound cleaners work because the high frequency makes cavitation bubbles, which collapse with incredible force and shift just about any dirt (you can check they're working properly by dropping a piece of kitchen foil in, it should punch tiny holes in it). A lower frequency won't do much more than simply soaking in the hot liquid.
I bought a cheap chinese one off ebay, can't remember the size now. I went for one with the timer knobs rather than the digital display & buttons, less to break down! It's worked fine for 3 years and I've hammered it with small engine parts & solvents on a regular basis, still going strong.

High frequency gives more, smaller cavitation "bubbles". Most ones that you can buy via ebay etc will run at 40kHz.
Lower frequency, say 25kHz gives fewer, larger, and more powerful, cavitaiton "bubbles" - this is the one that will hammer away at your delicate metals and erode it - it will easily punch holes in baking foil - 40kHz will do too, eventually.
I used to design machines using ultraonsics here and in the US - take a look here at a guy who I used to work with (I use the words "work with" loosely

I just borrowed a small industrial tank from my old boss in the UK for a mate to clean some carbs from his ebay Lotus Elan S3 project - hes quite impressed.
In case you want a proper tank, or even proper chemical/detergent advice and supply: http://www.ransohoff.co.uk/ If you end up spending money, tell 'em Bri sent you - might not get you anything, but at least they might lend me a tank again

I have an old Cole-Parmer, somewhere between 5 and 10 L. I was handed it donkey's years ago to see if I could repair it after the owner plugged it in and discovered that 240V into an appliance labelled 120V is not a good idea. Needless to say the control electronics were all fried, even after I replaced various voltage regulators and fixed blown tracks etc. So it went in the scrap pile, until a good while later it occurred to me to check the driver board for the ultrasonic pads. It turned out to be repairable but still needs 110V. I fitted the old mechanical timer from a washing machine to it and although the heater doesn't work it still rattles the contents well enough. I use a professional non-foaming detergent in it.
The cheapnese ones have a habit of the membrane keypads failing; my mate uses the small units to clean the component parts of scuba regulators and I've had to repair a couple with add-on boxes to replace the non-functioning buttons. As soon as the electronics drivers fail though, it's into the bin and buy a new one. I think I still have two or three of his in my workshop that need various components replacing but being burned to a crisp makes identification difficult.
