Hey all I signed up to this forum just to ask a question to all experienced welders in the UK. I was wondering if any of you feel that Welding/Fabrication here is too laid back in this nation I have found that since I have started my career in welding that there is not a lot of people in my area not as keen as I am to continue to learn and progress in a career in Welding and Fabrication. At the school I am completing my foundation degree at my tudor informed me recently that we will not be training on TIG welding because our campus cannot afford TIG machines. Please put me in my place here if I sound a little out of line but I thought by started a Welding course I would be training in the 3 main types at least it just shocked me to say the least. I watch a lot of videos on YouTube to help me learn more and a lot of these videos are from America these guys just seem to be on another level than we are why is this? Is it just the area I am from nobody seems to want to do great things with this trade they just seem to be in it to make quick money and that really bothers me. My school is so unorganized and I feel like I am being rushed through the course so please could anyone explain to me why our welding industry just does not seem to care here
