ive had mine over 50 years and was second hand when i relieved it err borrowed it from the local garage and it still reads accuratelyYou will not regret getting a PCL
I use needle nosed pliers to hold the stem, whilst applying the chuck.I have a related question and I hope @brewdexta doesn't mind me adding to his thread.
I have a push on end on my pcl which is fine for topping up a tyre but a pain when filling a big tyre as you have to keep it pressed onto the valve. It's also impossible to use on a tubed wheel.
Whats the best clip on end for a pcl inflator?
That's what I have to do when blowing up the wheel barrow but it requires 3 hands.I use needle nosed pliers to hold the stem, whilst applying the chuck.
This is a case where you have an inflator chuck with no blow lever....only qty (2) hands needed. That's what I have to do when blowing up the wheel barrow but it requires 3 hands.
Open end used with an inflator. Then of course there is the choice of connector, clip on or push on with open or closed end.

It would have to be something that doesn't harm rubber so I guess silicon oil would be suitable. The PCL inflators say to oil them but they don't specify what type of oil. Does anyone know? I haven't oiled mine in the couple of years I've had it, probably not a problem since it's not being used constantly.
I think there's a specific hole for the gauge to be oiled. It would have to be something that doesn't harm rubber so I guess silicon oil would be suitable.
Did you keep letting the tyre down…..just couldn't help myself - had a play after work
It seems really well made and was very easy to read and use
