TWR spotwelder?

I recently picked up a 240V TWR portable (ish - it's quite heavy) spotwelder.

ANyone any idea on capabilities of machine? It looks a well made bit of kit, I have four or five sets of arms. the guy I got it off had it for mini panels and said it was very expensive when new.

Can't seem to find much info on them on the net.

Hi,

I can't help with your TWR as I have a Spotmatic one.

What info are you looking for? Settings maybe?

I believe the way to test is to join two strips with a single spot so that they form a V. You then try to break the weld with a twisting motion by opening up the V angle and closing it.
The spot will eventually break and should leave a hole in one piece and a "nugget" on the other.

Mine is rated at 9kw (7000 amps) and with 350mm arms will do up to 1.5 to 1.5mm.
With 125mm arms it will do 2mm to 2mm.
If yours is anything like this output then I could photograph the "suggested settings" chart on the machine.
