I bought an used two poster with a blown motor.
I posted a while back re the wiring to get it to go up & down.
Got all that sorted but then the project stalled for a bit.
Yesterday I got round to putting a car on it to check it.
Sadly it failed to lift the car off its wheels. Raised it a bit but not wheels off.
I think that the previous owner had bought it with no motor & had fitted one that is too low powered & wired wrong so the start coil was doing the lowering too. They blew it big style.
So my options as I see them:-
1, Fit an second new motor but go bigger.
2, Try to increase the pulley ratio substantially.
3, Fit a step down pulley between motor & lift screw pulley's.
A bigger motor would be quite costly & leave me with a new motor left over.
Not sure how much I can realistically increase the ratio.
As its currently a three belt drive could be hard to set up.
Any other options?
