Soon I'll be pulling the trigger and purchasing a 2 post lift for my workshop after giving it a bit of a renovation and future proofing the building. The original concrete floor of the building was poured more that 20 years ago now before we moved into the property and therefore I can't comment on the mix used but it has never moved or cracked during my time of jacking up cars and having them on axle stands since I started wrenching a few years ago. However, an area of the floor which predated the building of the workshop and was actually used for milking cows many moons ago and was very uneven therefore for piece of mind and a clean level floor I opted to pour a further 100mm deep layer on top of original concrete using a C35 batch and also rebar reinforcement at the points where I would install the 2 posts of the car lift that I intend to install. I have made a quick picture on paint to illustrate the how the floor currently exists, I'll also note that PVA bonding was used shortly before pouring the new concrete to better adhere the two layers.
So after some thoughts and talking to the lift manufacturer I've decided to use chemical anchors (epoxy/resin based) to better secure the lift and tie it into both layers of concrete. I'm looking at using Fischer products for both the anchors and injection resin due to their more affordable products than the likes of Hilti. Originally I was looking at Fischer FIS VL resin and M16 FTR studs but I'm not sure if this would be suitable for the dynamic and sustained loads that a 2 post lift can create at the outside anchors.
Would anyone have any recommendations or experience they could share? I'm very cautious regarding the installation and have been doing a lot of research into the topic due to my head very much being on the chopping block if something goes wrong...
