TWI Diploma

I am thinking of signing up for the Diploma although it shall be very costly. Has anybody here attended the TWI courses? I would very much like to hear anybodys experience with TWI so I can have an idea of what to expect and hear some feedback about them. Basically is it worth the money?

I suppose the worth of it is what do you hope to gain by taking it.

If passing it enables you to get a more secure, better paid job that you enjoy then it has been money well spent, if, however it just gives you something to hang on the wall I would call that a waste of money.

I have done a few TWI courses over the years and they are generally well run, some of the info is a bit dated and as you say they are expensive, the one I found most worthwhile was the CSWIP one

I did it many many many years ago. Probably not the same. I did the Full Membership course (whatever that means). I believe it helped me.

Always wanting to learn and improve my skills. I love welding and expect it to be a part of my career for the most part of my life. I require the Diploma to be able to sign up for a Open Universtity Degree in Materials, Fabrication and Engineering. The TWI course consists of 5 modules and at £1100 per module it is not something to do just for the fun of it.
