They once asked our IT support if he could step in as an extra, they didn't really tell him what was involved until it was too late, he's the one on the far left and its a good job he's not into welding cos he will kill me if he finds out I've dug this up

Recently i had a possible opportunity to be involved with a project working with c4, I was going to offer services for free as i knew the publicity would be good, but as more details came along i decided against it. Now the show has started airing all i can say is i am so glad i walked away.

I did some ABB robot programming for a production company making a dealer launch video for the Rover 827 fastback, it took nearly 2 weeks to produce a 3 minute video!

Didn't know robots had disco lights, how awesome is that
The 2 robots at the front were carrying mirrors to reflect lasers around, it took a bit of setting up between me and the laser guys to get the servo controlled lasers to track the mirror while the robot was moving.

Since we are drifting into adds. I did several with a producer GF. My bit was tec support/translation/FX. Long hours, but well paid (by local standards) and quite interesting. I actually got on TV in a Guinness add, well at least my legs did. All the extras had been sent home, when the nutty director suddenly decided that the light was right, so anybody around had to don the uniforms and run in the surf. Plus side was, under the rules, as I had done half an hour as an extra, I copped a full days pay for that, on top of my other work. Mind you, running in surf for a half hour, being chased by a Jeep that I had converted to a camara car, was seriously knackering. We spent a whole week hard at it,with around 70 bods on the beach, for 40 secs of TV time.
Interestingly, that was with a mostly British outfit and pretty chaotic, with lots of 'union' demarcation. The rest were with a Dutch production Co. and a delight to work with, no shouting, just how can we sort this out?
