@zx9 mention TV Distribution and network cable and video plugs in another thread so this is to clarify if I have read it correctly without spoiling the OPs thread.
Can you distribute TV via a network then?
My key requirement is to be Able to feed sky from my phone to a network of TV's so when I am required in another room I can at least stand a chance if being able to pick up watching when I am free again....which may be minutes or longer.
It's actually made worse as my WiFi is garbage and all devices keep dropping out. Connecting immediately with 2g or 5g which ever I was not on or vice versa solves the issue but it's a major pain.
I can't afford to go high end with a mesh system but I hope to find out what will be best bang for my buck on my next payday in terms of a WiFi router so I can just use my virgin super hub in modem mode.
I thought that would be the case.....lol story of my life. You need a receiver for the 'phone to mirror to. Then you feed that into either an HDMI splitter followed by CAT 6 links or an HDMI matrix switch which already has the Cat6 links built in. You put a Cat6 to HDMI converter on the back of each TV.
A matrix switch means that you can feed a number of devices in and receive any one on any TV. they are not cheap though.

An option I guess...its Always ££££ rather than 10's lol. I will have to start saving up. I had thought of trying to go that route...but was not aware I would need a HDMI modulator. In fact I don't know what one is. Lol.one other option comes to mind. Again you need a receiver with HDMI out to mirror to. An iPhone will need an Apple TV box, Android will use (I guess) a Chromecast. Then you feed that into an HDMI HD modulator and feed it into the TV distribution amplifier that you probably already have. That gives you a Freeview HD signal on channel 799 or whatever you choose on all Freeview HD compatible sets.
Decent HD modulator under £200 and I keep them in stock.
I will keep that in mind for when I finally get around to finish sorting out the home CCTV from the long list of semi-finished jobs.Decent HD modulator under £200 and I keep them in stock.

I thought I might be able to distribute via coax but was not sure how to get HDMI out. I just grabbed a 5 way HDMI but it's only really a switch 1 into 5.
I also have 3 sets of HDMI to CAT6 converters to try. Not used them yet though.
Need to solve WiFi issue first. It's a right pain.
Not sure what you are trying to achieve, but for video streaming 100Mb is fine.I have just been reading this.View attachment 208571
This is exactly what I am trying to avoid. As I have high speed internet it seems like 10/100 is not suitable.
Ok I am working towards being able to get TV in all rooms of my house. Not sure what you are trying to achieve, but for video streaming 100Mb is fine.
I think it might be because I have had a dodgy super hub 2 for years and blamed my phone until I got a new one.Personally I have never had any problems with just a couple of reasonable AP(Netgear, TP-Link) dotted around connected back to the main incoming hub via a cat 5 cable. The wireless device just connects to the best one, very occasionally you may have to manually swap to another point, but very rarely. Phones, laptops and Tv boxes seem to just get on with the job for themselves.
