Tungsten holder

Anyone use one of these for sharpening their tungsten, never had one or seen one in use but it's bound to save the fingers

Buy a cheap pin vice set, I only use one when they get a bit short, or if I'm using an angle grinder / flap disc out on site

I tried using a zirconated ? Is that the word? Flap disk. Once.

Didn't work at all.

Took my tungsten to the thoroughly contaminated bench grinder and everything was ok again? Any thoughts?

Blue one?, yes Zirconiated, they are all I use, I have never had any problems sharpening tungstens with them other than the electrode puts a groove in them, that's not a bad thing, it makes them self aligning on the wheel, I usually keep a worn wheel with me for tungsten prep on site.

It might have been a particular type of resin binder that didn't play nice? Just a guess.

I try to use long back caps as much as possible so I don't have fiddly little tungstens to sharpen. I could do with a pin vice for when I do use short ones though.

I think they were Wurth, might have been something else, just wouldn't arc.
